Lee Strasberg is the best school for method acting so I intend to fully immerse myself in study and in New York culture... — Brittanie Shipway, LSTFI Student.

FROM Mulgoa to New York, The Voice’s Brittanie Shipway is off to the Big Apple to take a crack at Broadway.

Shipway will make the big move in June following a recommendation from pop star Kylie Minogue.

“In the battle rounds I sang Les Miserables tear-jerker, On My Own, and Kylie said to me ‘you could walk onto Broadway tomorrow’. Those words stayed with me,” the 21-year-old said.

“I’ve always wanted to go to New York and I knew I wanted to do something that would top The Voice experience so I looked into the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and applied.

“There was a rumour going around that Dustin Hoffman applied several times before he got in, so I never thought that I would be accepted.”

Shipway will study method acting at the institute for six months.

Lee Strasberg is the best school for method acting so I intend to fully immerse myself in study and in New York culture. This opportunity lends itself to so many possibilities on Broadway and in cabaret,” Shipway said.
