The Johnny Depp Scholarship is annually awarded to one passionate student dedicated to lifelong artistic development and actor training. The winning candidate is selected based on the applicant’s artistic achievements, community leadership, and interest in Lee Strasberg’s work.
Johnny Depp is an international star whose dedication to his craft and the specifics of each moment has yielded some of this generation’s most nuanced and alive performances. His boundless imagination, paired with his incredible devotion to the investigation of human behavior and the resulting specificity of his characters, makes Johnny Depp a model for all actors at the beginning of their careers and a brilliant standard for this scholarship recipient.
The Johnny Depp Scholarship is open to domestic non-matriculated students only. (International students should apply for the Eleonora Duse Scholarship). To be considered, individuals must submit the completed application and required supplemental materials. The Johnny Depp Scholarship is awarded each academic year for one year of full-time study in the Two-Year Conservatory at the New York Campus (A second year of scholarship may be awarded to the recipient after a review of his/her performance). Scholarship recipients should expect to begin their studies at the start of the Fall semester. Completed applications, including all supplemental information, must be postmarked by the application due date.
