Sergei Tcherkasski is a theatre director and current Head of an Acting Studio in the Saint Petersburg Theatre Arts Academy. His recent book entitled “ACTING: STANISLAVSKY – BOLESLAVSKY – STRASBERG. History, Theory and Practice” focuses on the Russian to American transformation of Stanislavsky’s system. Tcherkasski meticulously deconstructs documents starting with the Moscow Art Theatre then leading to the American Theatre Lab, Group Theatre and ultimately the Actor’s Studio.Containing over 390 photographs from nearly 20 museums, this publication is a result of years of countless interviews and research. It presents a crucial understanding and confirmation of Lee Strasberg’s work in American theatre.

Anna Strasberg states: “I am thrilled that those with an interest in acting and the theatre arts in Stanislavsky’s homeland now will be able to gain a deeper understanding of Lee Strasberg’s work.”
